Simon Hunt Strategic Services Ltd. was started in January 1996, after its founder, Simon Hunt, broke up with the other consultancy which he started in 1975, Brook Hunt.
Our objective is to provide independent and unfettered advice without institutional bias on economic and copper matters. This is done through rigorous analysis supported by a global network of independent, but well known, economists and strategists and via our world network of copper consumers and fabricators.
Simon Hunt began his career in Central Africa as PA to the chairman of Rhodesian Selection Trust, one of the two major copper companies in what was then Northern Rhodesia. He then joined Anglo American before helping to set up a new copper producer organisation (CIDEC). Following some years in the City, he set up Brook Hunt in 1975. Simon Hunt is also a consultant to Xiangguang Copper Company, a private sector integrated smelter/refinery company in Shandong province with an installed capacity of 200kt/a which is in the process of being doubled.
